Vegetation is a key indicator of the quality, influencing environmental factors and management of an area. A vegetation survey can provide a snapshot of the current and recent status of an area, while monitoring can enable the development of the vegetation of an area to be followed.

At Bureau Waardenburg we have experience of surveying and monitoring both terrestrial and aquatic vegetation. As well as working in the field, we regularly work with (false colour) aerial images. We have extensive experience in the stereoscopic interpretation of aerial images and the processing of digital vegetation maps.

Recently, we have been involved in establishing and implementing a monitoring network for roadside vegetation. The 1,600 monitoring plots lie along roadside verges across the Netherlands and form part of the national vegetation monitoring network NEM (het Landelijk Florameetnet).
