Bureau Waardenburg in the media

Bureau Waardenburg is regularly invited to explain its ecological research on television, radio and in other media. Sometimes these contributions have a more regular structure, such as the weblog of Jan van der Winden on the website of the Dutch BirdLife partner Vogelbeschermming.

On this page you'll find a number of past media appearances.

Nature management in Ambon

Bureau Waardenburg has given ecological training  at the University of Pattimura in Ambon, Indonesia. See the interview with Wouter Lengkeek and Dille Wielakker in the the Culemborgse Courant (in Dutch) from Wednesday 8th December 2010.

Common tern research

Investigations into the low breeding success of common terns in the IJsselmere revealed a shortage of a favoured food source, the smelt. This research was detailed in the national Dutch newspaper the nrc handelsblad on 5th January 2010.

Bird-scaring flapping devices

We have been investigating the effectiveness of bird-scaring flapping devices on powerlines for the grid administrators, TenneT. This work has been frequently reported in the media.
