Amphibians and Reptiles

In the Netherlands, all species of amphibian and reptile are protected by law. Therefore, before developments or changes to the landscape are realised investogations into the presence of these species may be needed. In addition, amphibians are a good indicator species as they use a range of habitats and require high water quality for breeding. Similarly, reptiles can provide a good indication of the quality of small-scale structures in the landscape.

Our specialist staff carry out surveys in accordance with national guidelines (as given by RAVON). During spring surveys, this means a total of four visits are required; two during the day and two in the evening. These standardised surveys in combination with the expertise of our staff ensures a high quality of research.
