Bureau Waardenburg draws up multidisciplinary urban ecology plans, in which all aspects of urban nature are elaborated upon, as well as their mutual dependence. In the city, too, there are numerous opportunities to restore the quality of nature, often combining this with other purposes the area serves, such as recreation or water management. The presence of plants and animals in an urban environment can contribute to the quality of the surroundings. These plans focus especially on subjects such as the establishment of a connection of the corridors within the city withthe outlying rural areas and the establishment of passageways for animals in the case of barriers.

The quality of nature in urban greenareas can be improved considerably by a goal-oriented approach. Bureau Waardenburg specialises in advising on ecologically-sound roadside management, riverbanks and public gardens. Our involvement in many surveys on the flora and fauna in urban areas(for example monitoring or impact assessments) has gained us much practical knowledge. This enables us to draw up realistic plans. Our expertise can also be used to organize educational programmes for employees in the greenery department of municipalities.
