Landscape ecology and ecosystems analysis
Many surveys carried out by Bureau Waardenburg deal with the presence of animal and plant life in relation to environmental factors. This research is often founded on a system analysis, in which the presence of a species is regarded as a result of different kinds of interaction between abiotic and biotic factors. We use it to obtain a better insight into the living environment of species and into the opportunities for present quality of the environment and its potential.
The results are used by different clients to support their decisions on planning (regional plans, nature recovery plans, management plans) and on issuing advice. Insight into the ecological processes and ecosystems of an area contributes to formulating balanced and realistic targets for maintaining and enhancing its quality.
